PASSIVE safety isn't exactly a Sonata strong point. Only the more expensive Sonata, the Classique, gets a standard driver's airbag, while buyers of the entry-level Executive model must pay extra for a driver's airbag and more again for a passenger airbag (also optional on Classique). Both Sonatas do, however, offer five lap-sash seatbelts, plus front seatbelt pre-tensioners and height adjustment.
