MANY people will lament the passing of the stylish, eminently affordable Lantra Sportswagon, though in its place has come an equally well-priced and certainly roomy and versatile five-door hatch. Now known as Elantra, the small-medium car has gone up a notch in areas such as equipment, interior presentation and refinement. But don't be fooled by grandiose claims about performance - a hefty kerb weight severely handicaps even the higher output 2.0-litre version.
