HYUNDAI’S inexorable desire to achieve market leadership in Australia is on the back of the keenly priced and cleverly packaged i30 hatch, a car designed expressly for Europe.

But equally important for the South Korean brand is the Elantra, a hot seller in its home market and the United States, and is as such unashamedly targeted to appeal to these consumers.

This is no bad thing, especially if you value space, reliability, sharp steering and a long warranty.
