HYUNDAI takes a different styling approach with the Accent, opting for a mixture of the creases and curves that are currently in vogue. But while it works inside, where there's a nicely sculpted dash to greet driver and front passenger, it is less successful outside with some lack of continuity giving a less balanced look than the Excel. The heavy-duty ribs under the rear bumper look entirely gratuitous and the grille is entirely South Korean. Still, it is probably less contrived than the Hyundai coupe.
