DESPITE its R8 nomenclature, the top-spec Maloo does not receive the Berlina level specification afforded its sibling, the ClubSport R8 sedan. That means standard Executive through SS fare such as manual air-conditioning, four-speaker sound system with single in-dash CD player and a sliding cover for the driver's sunvisor-mounted vanity mirror only. The ClubSport R8 gets climate control air-conditioning, the Maestro sound system with 10-disc CD player, 260-watt amplifier and premium speakers, illuminated vanity mirrors with covers for both driver and passenger, as well as height adjustable front seatbelts. Ute models are fitted with a longer centre console than sedan or wagon models, featuring an open storage box aft of the main, lidded storage compartment so that the console extends to the rear cabin wall.
