SINCE the last of the VS models the entire vehicle has changed, including the engine - the VSIII Maloo was the last vehicle to be powered by the Aussie 5.0-litre V8. But for the update from VU to VUII, there are only a few points of differentiation. New steering column stalks for the windscreen wiper and indicator functions, incorporating the cruise control switchgear, were the most notable modifications. They superseded the rubbery old stalk controls that had been used since the VT Commodore in 1997 and provide a much cleaner, ergonomic design as well as more user-friendly cruise control buttons.
