IN addition to the integrated anti-theft immobiliser (HSV Embedded Security System or ESS), in conjunction with Commodore's large but tactile integrated remote key fob, all HSV models are now equipped with DataDot technology as an extra theft deterrent. DataDots, or HSV DNA as its been branded by Holden's performance partner, is invisible to the naked eye but is applied to various parts of the vehicle. Each dot contains the specific VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) of the car, enabling enforcement authorities to identify individual HSVs and their components. HSV was the first Australian manufacturer to adopt this vehicle identification system, although Ford/Tickford now use it on the T-Series models, as does Mitsubishi with the Ralliart Magna.
