Legend is powered by a new 3.5-litre, SOHC 24-valve, all-alloy V6 engine. It develops 147kW at 5200rpm and 284Nm of torque at 2800rpm The engine has a balancer shaft to reduce unwanted vibration and the rocking motion inherent in a 90-degree V6 All major engine components, including the block and cylinder heads, are new The subframe mounts between the engine, transmission and front suspension assembly are filled with hydraulic fluid to isolate engine and road noiseThe four-speed automatic transmission has been upgraded to provide better shift feel and greater efficiency The front suspension uses unequal length upper and lower control arms and a stabiliser bar and at the rear has a longitudinal trailing arm, three lateral links and a stabiliser bar It may look substantially bigger but the new car's dimensions almost match those of the superseded modelHeat-absorbing green glass is used to keep cabin temperatures cooler in summer The fold-down rear arm rest has twin cupholders and provides access to the boot so long items can be carried The steering wheel is electrically-adjustable for reach and rake A lower roll centre front and rear is said to improve handling The centre console houses a six-stack CD changer.
