THE latest Integra is powered by an all-new 1998cc four-cylinder engine complete with the latest Honda i-VTEC LEV technology. I-VTEC combines Honda's valve timing technology with variable timing control that continually adjust camshaft phasing for a better spread of performance throughout the rev range, lower fuel consumption and improved emissions performance. Combine that with all-alloy construction, double overhead camshafts and 16 valves, and you're looking at 118kW at a high-revving 6500rpm and 191Nm at a more reasonable 4000rpm. As figures go for 2.0-litre engines that's pretty outstanding, but nowhere near the Type R, which pumps out 147kW at 7400rpm and 192Nm at 6000rpm.
