HR-V five-door and three-door models are powered by a Civic-based, 1590cc, SOHC, 16-valve, four-cylinder engine, outputting 77kW at 6200rpm and 138Nm at 3400rpm. Some tinkering has upgraded the engine to LEV, or low emissions vehicle, status without impacting heavily on power output. Government fuel consumption figures put HR-V at 7.8L/100km. Performance from rest to 100km/h will be about 12 seconds. To lessen drivetrain noise and vibration, HR-V has driveshaft dynamic dampers, a new three-point rear differential mount and a propeller shaft dynamic damper.
