CR-V prices cut

A STRONG Aussie dollar has contributed to a price cut on Honda's CR-V range.

The entry manual now starts at $29,990, CR-V Sport $35,290 and Sport Luxury $37,290. Autos are $2000 extra.

Prices have been trimmed by $2000 for the base model, $1500 for the Sport and $1000 for the Sport Luxury.

Honda Australia senior director Lindsay Smalley said the company wanted to continue the momentum started by the added-value of its imported Civic sedan and Accord from Thailand, which benefit from additional equipment and the abolition of tariffs under the free trade agreement.

Last October Honda upgraded the specification of CR-V range with the addition of a five-speed automatic, bigger wheels, tyres and brakes, new colours and upgraded stereo, security system and cruise control.

The CR-V’s off-road performance was also enhanced thanks to improvements to Honda’s Real-Time 4WD system and safety was given a boost with the inclusion of side airbags on the CR-V Sport.

Honda has sold more than 75,000 CR-Vs since it was introduced in 1997.
