CR-V is powered by a 1973cc, double overhead cam, 16-valve, four-cylinder engine which, after revisions to the air intake system for the 1999 model year, now produces 108kW (up 12kW) at 6500rpm (up 1000rpm) and 182Nm (as before) at 4500rpm (up 300rpm). Independent performance figures put the CR-V Sport slightly ahead of its four-cylinder rivals, completing the 0-100km/h sprint in 10.5 seconds. Fuel consumption is good for this class, with road test figures pointing to about 10.4L/100km.
