CR-V crash protection is offered by the vehicle's monocoque - or passenger car-like - body construction. The 1999 model year introduced a more progressive front body structure for improved crash protection performance. Dual front airbags are standard equipment and all seats except the centre rear position have adjustable headrests. Seatbelt webbing clamps are standard but the centre rear seat gets an inadequate lap belt. The front seatbelt buckles are mounted on the seats and the upper anchorages are adjustable. Anti-lock brakes are fitted on the Sport model only.
