STANDARD equipment across the Accord range includes dual airbags and anti-lock brakes. The Accord's body has 40 per cent more torsional rigidity and a 69 per cent improvement in bending rigidity compared to the previous model. A stronger centre floor crossmember and new braces between the A-pillars, as well as a new B-pillar base contribute to side-impact protection.
