THE Getrag manual transmission features cable-shift, increased torque carrying capacity, synchromesh on reverse gear, hydraulic clutch actuation and revised (read closer) gear ratios. The benefits include improved acceleration for overtaking in fourth and fifth gears, a better feel, more precise gear change and easier selection of reverse gear. The electronically controlled four-speed automatic has a choice of normal, sport or winter modes, plus a winter setting in which the car starts in second gear to limit wheelspin.
