THE Generation III, 5.7-litre V8 is all new but designed using traditional thinking, as it is a 90-degree V8 using an overhead valve design and two-valves per-cylinder. It produces 220kW at 5000rpm and 446Nm of torque at 4400rpm, up 23 per cent and 13 per cent respectively on its heavier 5.0-litre predecessor.

Holden claims significant fuel economy gains as well.
