Holden launches "clever" Statesman International

HOLDEN has released another limited edition Statesman International model, of which only 350 examples will be produced.

Priced at $56,990, the fourth generation of the International model, and the second in the WH Statesman's model life, is being used as a platform for the introduction of Holden's advanced new in-car communications system.

Known as Holden Assist, the telematics system combines mobile phone and global positioning system technology to offer drivers a range of in-car support services, such as:· Roadside assistance· Remote door unlocking · Low battery service alert· Emergency connection service to the National Emergency Response Centre· Airbag deployment notification· Unauthorised entry alert· Vehicle location and remote engine immobilisation if vehicle has been stolenThe system is operated by a series of buttons integrated into a new electro-chromatic rear view mirror and is linked to a Holden Customer Assistance call centre that is manned 24 hours a day.

Exterior features to distinguish the International model from its Statesman siblings are unique 17-inch alloy wheels with a five-spoke design, subtle rear spoiler, body coloured side mouldings with chrome inserts and International Series badging.

The only exterior colour offered on the Statesman International is Raven blue/black, while the only engine available is the Gen III 5.7-litre V8, which produces 225kW of power and 460Nm of torque.

As with all Statesman models, a four-speed automatic transmission is standard.

The interior is customised with an exclusive Raven seat trim in a combination of Howe leather and suede, as well as featuring a blue faced instrument cluster with white needles and silver mask, leather steering wheel, handbrake and gearshift lever and embroidered floor mats.
