Five hundred Internationals will be built and all will be powered by the Chev-sourced Gen III 225kW engine mated to the usual four-speed automatic transmission.
Price has been set at $58,500, which is $2753 more than the standard Statesman V8, and a considerable $9211 less than the Caprice, from which it borrows some of its standard equipment.
Externally, chrome is at a minimum thanks to the body coloured side mouldings and grille, while the new projector headlights sit in behind the Statesman's clear lenses.
Other exterior design flourishes include an integrated rear decklid spoiler and unique 17x8-inch alloy wheels wrapped in low profile 235/45 R17 tyres.
Standard inside are a hands-free communications service that links driver and vehicle to Holden's 24 hour Customer Assistance Centre exclusive seat and door trim in dark red leather with suede fabric inserts and priority key personal identity system with three-position memory driver's seat and mirror memory settings.
There's also a unique instrument cluster with a dark red face, contrasting white needles and silver mask with the dash facia also in silver diamond check finish on the automatic transmission console and compartment covers silver grey stitching on leather-trimmed steering wheel, gear selector and handbrake chrome doorhandles, instrument panel V8 International badge, gear selector and handbrake buttons and embroidered floor mats.
That's added to standard equipment which already includes a 10-disc CD changer, high-output 10-speaker audio system eight-way electric front seats dual zone climate control continuously variable speed-sensing power steering traction control and anti-lock (ABS) braking system and driver, passenger and side airbags.
