UPDATED: 06/06/2014 8:30amHOLDEN'S end-of-financial year sale has kicked off with driveaway pricing and free equipment upgrades across a number of passenger and light-commercial models to the end of June.

GM's local arm has slashed the price of its Australian-built Cruze Equipe which is now priced at $19,990 driveaway – just $500 above the RRP of $19,490 for the sedan or hatch.

By comparison, the Toyota Corolla Ascent hatch is priced from $19,990 plus on-road costs.

The Malibu sedan is being offered from $27,990 driveaway for the base CD petrol, representing a saving of about $500 on the usual recommended retail price (RRP) of $28,490 plus on-road costs that typically add up to about $2000 to $3000 on a car depending on state or territory.

The Malibu CD driveaway price cannot beat the EOFY sale price of rival Toyota's base Camry Altise sedan which is being advertised at $26,990 driveaway.

The Holden Trax small SUV gets free on-roads and free automatic transmission for the the regular RRP price of $24,990 price. Auto usually costs $2200 alone.

The larger Holden Captiva range benefits from driveaway pricing, with the base Captiva 5 LT petrol available for $25,990 with a free auto transmission, while the Captiva 7 LS is being offered from $29,990 with a $1000 factory bonus.

The Colorado LX pick-up is available from $37,990 driveaway with a free auto transmission upgrade and three years' free servicing, while the LT Crew Cab gains the same upgrades at $39,990 driveaway.

Holden says all other Colorado ute variants get the three years' free servicing and the automatic upgrade until June 30.

The top-selling VF Commodore range can be upgraded to a V8 engine for half the usual price, while the generously equipped V-Series upgrade is also available at half the usual price. Buyers can also upgrade from a sedan to Sportwagon or an automatic transmission at no extra cost.

Holden is also offering the limited edition Z-Series Cruze and Cruze SRi that adds styling tweaks and equipment upgrades, as well as the Commodore Storm that arrived at the end of April priced from $33,490 plus on-roads for the manual SV6 Ute and topping out at $46,690 for the SS automatic Sportwagon.

Holden sales and marketing executive director Philip Brook said the latest mid-year sale was one of the best the company had offered in some time.

“Holden continues to build and sell cars that Australians love,” he said.

“Holden is the fastest growing of the top 10 brands in Australia this year, and has now outperformed the market for nine consecutive months.

“We have more products in more segments than ever before and this EOFY campaign offers even more incredible value for customers.”Holden EOFY sale model driveaway pricing:
