AUSTRALIA’S only locally made small car is now available as a hatch. Holden started making the Cruze sedan at its Adelaide plant in March and the five-door hatch has now joined it on the production line.

There are three engines available, a 1.8-litre petrol four with 104kW and 176Nm, a sportier 1.4-litre turbo with 103kW and 200Nm, and a strong 2.0-litre diesel with 120kW and 360Nm.

The five-door hatch has much in common with its sedan sibling, but has unique panels from the B-pillar back.

As with the sedan, all Cruze hatchback models come fully loaded with a suite of six airbags, electronic stability control, cruise control and Bluetooth phone connectivity.
