THE Cruze is a theoretical five-seater, with two bucket seats up front and a 50:50 split-fold rear bench seat. But in reality there's really only space for two across the rear seat. Safety equipment includes dual front airbags and front seatbelt pretensioners, belt force limiters and height adjust. But the middle rear passenger misses out on a lap-sash seatbelt. The interior is even more familiarly Suzuki than the exterior, with a tray running right across the bottom of the dash which is suitable for CDs, mobile phones and the like. It's all hard surfaces though, so anything you do put in there will bounce around a bit. Big cupholders at the extreme left and right of the tray are well thought out with space chiselled out of the dash to ensure you can fit man-size containers. Another Ignis signature is the storage drawer under the front passenger seat. There are also narrow door storage bins front and rear, and a reasonably sized glovebox capable of taking a few CDs.
