VX steering feel is changed compared with VT, thanks to front suspension changes. VT itself brought several improvements to the Commodore's power-assisted rack and pinion steering system compared to its predecessor, the VSII. The variable ratio steering gear was revised to incorporate more rack travel in order to maintain a turning circle of 11 metres, despite the longer wheelbase. The use of a longer steering arm and decreased rack ratio has improved the steering's on-centre feel, while the power steering rack was recalibrated to enhance changes to the suspension.
