Holden musters Colorado Black Edition

BY RICHARD BERRY | 30th Sep 2014

HOLDEN is celebrating its sponsorship of the Deniliquin Ute Muster with a Black Edition accessory package for its crew cab models that adds extra features and a saving of more than $1000.

The dealer-fit package includes a sports bar, a nudge bar and bonnet protectors – all in black – a hard tonneau cover, slimline weathershields and two iPad cradles for rear-seat passengers.

Valued at $5000, Holden has bundled the accessories in the Black Edition pack for $3995 until December 31, 2014.

Available now from participating dealers, the pack will be launched at the world’s largest gathering of utility vehicles, the Deni Ute Muster, in Victoria from October 3-4.

The event is expected to draw daily crowds of more than 20,000. This year Holden will display the VF SS-V Redline ute taken to the Nurgburgring Norsdschleife in 2013 alongside a Colorado fitted with the Black Edition package.

Colorado is Holden’s second-biggest selling vehicle with 12,727 utes (4x4 10,633 and 4x2 2094) sold in the year to the end of August. The 4x4 variant is the fourth biggest-selling ute in Australia with the Toyota Hilux in the top spot, followed by Ford Ranger and Mitsubishi Triton.

Built at General Motor’s Rayong plant in Thailand the new generation RG Colorado launched in 2012. Prices start at $28,390 (plus on-road costs) for the LX 4x2 Single Cab and top out at $52,690 for the LTZ 4x4 Crew Cab.
