LIKE others in the range, Barina SRi is fitted with speed-dependent electric (as opposed to hydraulic) power steering. The system aims to take effort out of turning the wheel when parking, while retaining good feel at higher speeds when little power assistance is required. A computer continuously evaluates information on driver-applied steering input, current road speed and engine speed to calculate the level of assistance required. Like its stablemates, the SRi has a turning circle of 9.9m and requires 2.9 turns from lock to lock.
