IF WE felt safety and handling were stand-out features of the non-performance Barinas, the SRi takes both important areas up another notch. Rear headrests, traction control and ABS brakes are all included here, along with even stronger road manners brought with several under-skin improvements. The improved performance is, of course, a shining aspect of the SRi as well. And while Barina itself has features not often seen at the budget end - active headrests and steering-mounted controls among them - SRi goes even further with cruise control and a host of sports-flavoured treatments inside and out. The one thing missing is air-conditioning fitted standard.
