SAFETY, quality and handling characteristics have risen to the fore in Barina's development priorities, which is an uncommon sight in the budget car sphere. Built with Europe in mind, the car finds an excellent blend of ride comfort and handling properties, and a good mix between active and safety features. Consider four-wheel disc brakes, improvements to the steering and suspension, dual airbags as standard and the use of anti-whiplash front head restraints - a feature not often seen in this class. Anti-lock brakes are, however, unavailable on the standard three-door and five-door models, and rear head restraints are nowhere to be found.
