AIR-CONDITIONING is optional on both the five-door and three-door Barina. Australian engineers had extensive involvement in the new air-conditioning system's development. The air vents are computer-optimised to improve air distribution, and the air outlet is positioned in a low-pressure area of the car floor to ensure a quick airflow rate throughout the cabin. The system has a recirculated air function, though it is automatically bypassed in the 'defrost' setting to clear windows as quickly as possible. The temperature controls comprise well-sized rotary dials and large buttons.
