IT might appear to be Barina of old, but look beyond the timid styling and an exceptional small car emerges. In terms of engine performance, ride and handling, and refinement, this is a car worth considering over most of its budget rivals. Forget the lack of electric windows some notable lapses in passive safety equipment are really the only concerns in an otherwise outstanding package which features anti-whiplash front headrests, a useful multi-function display and an excellent stereo with steering wheel-mounted controls.
