ASTRA'S Electronic Stability Program is a further extension of the ABS/Traction Control systems and includes the addition of steering angle and yaw rate sensors that can detect understeer and oversteer. ESP recognises these critical driving situations and intervenes to help the driver regain control of the vehicle by regulating engine torque and applying the brakes to individual wheels.
