THE three-door model reduces the entry-level price of the Astra but retains the same mechanicals and interior and exterior dimensions as the five-door. Not constrained by rear doors, the designers have been able to give the car a sportier profile. The doors are substantially bigger and the front seats have a tilt/slide function with memory for good access to the rear. The front track remains the same as the City five-door hatch but is 12mm narrower at the rear. Kerb weight is also up 33kg compared to the equivalent five-door. With a City specification, the Astra mirrors the equipment level of the equivalent five-door.
