SLICK Euro looks, more class, more space and more comfort add up to a Holden Astra that once again forges ahead in its class as a small car to aspire to. The AH Astra reminds us that in Europe its competition is a little upmarket of what it has to deal with here. The previous model’s deficits were relatively few and mainly comprised a rather drab-looking interior that was less inviting than most other small cars. The new Astra banishes those thoughts forever with a clean, appealing interior look that is backed up by comfortable seating and plenty of space everywhere. But what may have been a minor demerit in the previous (but still available) TS Astra – the fact it only offered a meagre 90kW – assumes greater significance in the bigger and heavier new model.
