Peugeot, Citroen offer pre-paid service plans

BY PETER BARNWELL | 9th Nov 2022

FRENCH Stellantis duo, Peugeot and Citroen, have announced new pre-paid three- or five-year service plans across their entire model line-ups aimed at simplifying the service procedure for customers and providing assured prices in a volatile, inflationary economic climate.

Further, the plans are an incentive for owners to utilise brand dealerships and authorised factory service providers thereby boosting their profitability rather than give business to third-party service operations.

Model dependent, Peugeot owners can now save up to $1164 on a five year pre-paid service plan compared to previous pricing while Citroen owners can now save up to $818, again model dependent over a five year term, according to Australian importer Inchcape.

The service plans are available on vehicles purchased after October 1, 2021 and came into play on October 1, 2022.

Inchcape says the “new, simple, flexible approach to servicing gives customers certainty and peace of mind”.

Pre-paid service plans remove the uncertainty of future servicing costs, with customers able to pay for their plans upfront.”

The service packages are linked to the commencement of a vehicle’s warranty start date, with customers able to choose to purchase a pre-paid service plan at the time of new or demonstrator vehicle purchase, or before obtaining their vehicle’s first scheduled service.

Managing Director of Citroen and Peugeot Australia, Kate Gillis, said: "We are pleased to offer customers additional choice when it comes to maintaining their Peugeot or Citroen vehicle. Following from the launch of Peugeot and Citroen Financial Services at the start of this year, the launch of pre-paid service plans will provide further value for local consumers when considering the Peugeot or Citroen Australia range."

“By bundling the costs upfront, this provides substantial savings in comparison to Assured Service Pricing (Fixed Price Servicing) as the cost of the scheduled services within the selected three- or five-year period are protected from future inflation costs for parts and labour.”

The two brands point out that pre-paid service plans provide new customers with greater convenience, but also provide the flexibility of having required scheduled services completed at any of participating authorised factory service centres around Australia.

All scheduled services are completed by manufacturer-trained technicians using the manufacturer’s diagnostic equipment and special tooling as well as Peugeot or Citroen genuine parts.

The pre-paid service plans are also transferable to subsequent owners, potentially enhancing resale value.
