ONE of the driving forces of Hyundai’s success in rallying and the dynamic sophistication of its road vehicles has died.

 

Engineer and suspension expert David Potter, who developed and patented ground-breaking adjustable dampers and successfully applied his thesis on new chassis development to the brand’s rally and road cars, joined Hyundai as a consultant in 2013.

 

On one of his many visits to Australia he presented a new suspension tuning program for the Elantra in 2016 that instantly became a benchmark ride and handling standard for mainstream small cars and promoted Hyundai as a company that could deliver vehicles with a high standard of dynamics.
