COBRA versions of the Mustang come only with Ford's Tremec T45 five-speed manual transmission. It works through a 280mm cable-operated clutch to a limited-slip differential running a final drive ratio of 3.27:1. The high fifth gear means relaxed cruising at highway speeds, while the V8 is capable of delivering strong acceleration in the lower ratios through a fairly useful torque band.
