SUBTLE changes go almost unnoticed in the latest version of the Ford Mondeo.

But the car remains a viable competitor in the medium-size segment with its inoffensive looks, decent size, comfortable interior and commodious luggage area. Mechanical changes have made the latest Mondeo smoother and quieter and the addition of features such as dual airbags, side airbags, anti-lock brakes and traction control on the Ghia (previously GLX) hatchback model are welcome too. But there is strong competition out there and the Mondeo has its work cut out.
