DISC brakes are used front and rear, the ventilated front discs measuring 258mm in diameter and the solid rear discs 281mm. These are the same brakes used on all 1.8-litre Lasers, with 1.6-litre models making do with 235mm front discs and 200mm rear drums. An anti-lock braking system, now with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), is also standard on SR2. The new EBD system is designed to differentiate between light and heavy loads and then allocate the ideal hydraulic braking pressure to counter rear wheel slip if it occurs.
