FORD has used the all-too-typical white-faced instrument dials to differentiate the SR and SR2 models, the SR making do with the standard white on black instrumentation with green illumination at night. It does, however, share the brushed silver dash fascia treatment with the SR2 (and GLXi), as well as the improved layout of climate controls now common to the entire range. As per the 323, the dash remains a clean, simplistic and functional area. The instruments (including tacho) within the hooded binnacle are informative and simple to use. Indeed, relatively large lettering is adopted for all levers, switches and meters ahead of the driver. The use of dimpled plastic across the dash and centre console gives the cockpit a stylish edge.
