DESPITE some earnest work on both front and rear ends, there is no questioning the Ford Laser's connection with the latest Mazda Astina. Inside, only the badges advise you which car you are driving. The Laser is a well-packaged car with peppy engines and an intriguing standard equipment choice - air-conditioning and driver's airbag are there but there are no power windows or mirrors, or central locking.
