Jim Farley takes the reins at Ford

FORD Motor Company has appointed a “car guy” who came from within its ranks to its top job in a move contrary to rival car-makers selecting leaders with a heavy emphasis on technology and finance.

 

Jim Farley, 58, who was appointed Ford’s chief operating officer in February, will replace Jim Hackett on October 1 as president and CEO of Ford Motor Company.
