THE new Falcon employs an upgraded version of Ford's Smartshield engine immobiliser, featuring a new key fob design for the remote central locking system.

The key and fob remains a two-piece affair, unlike Commodore's integrated remote key, although the fob has been redesigned with lock, unlock, boot and panic alarm buttons now featuring braille.

Lock and unlock buttons have also been relocated in the fob casing. The keypad can be programmed for either single-stage or two-stage (driver only) unlocking.

As before, only the driver's door gets a locking button - this time finished in the same satin chrome material as the interior door handles, Interior Command Centre control knobs and automatic transmission gear lever.

The interior central locking button is now located at the bottom of the ICC panel, alongside the interior light switch.
