WITH Falcon sales slowing to a crawl in the lead-up to the new "Orion" range, Ford Australia has introduced a limited-edition model that provides buyers with a $9000 better deal over a regular Falcon XT manual.

Displayed for the first time at the Brisbane motor show, the new Falcon SR is priced at $32,888 – a retail saving of $2102 over the XT – yet comes with some $7000 worth of extra equipment and features, according to Ford.

Among the extra features on the SR are automatic transmission, 17-inch alloy wheels, sports suspension tuning, ‘prestige’ audio system with six-disc in-dash CD player, leather-wrapped sports steering wheel, sports seat trim with leather bolsters and front headrests, and a ‘premium’ bodykit with chrome highlights and rear spoiler.

The Falcon SR is on sale now and supply is limited to 1700 units nationally.
