AUII introduced a number of modifications to the Falcon four-wheel disc brake package, including bigger pads, thicker rotors, changes to the master cylinder and the inclusion of a higher capacity booster. These changes reduce the possibility of fluid overheating and improve performance during high deceleration stops. Improved fade performance, pedal feel and a reduction in noise is gained as a result. Falcon's three-channel Bosch ABS braking system, optional on Forte but standard on SR, was also recalibrated. New twin-pot, aluminium headed front callipers bolt directly onto a spindle through a cast-iron anchor bracket. The calliper contains a non-asbestos organic pad material with 70 per cent increased pad volume.
