Ford GTHO Phase III launched again

BY GAUTAM SHARMA | 22nd Jun 1999

THE Ford Falcon GTHO Phase III has just been relaunched - well, at least a 1/24th scale version made by Trax.

Although owning the original version would be a considerable extravagance, the miniature version enables ownership for under $200, with maintenance and fuel consumption costs amounting to nil.

The model is a faithful replica of the original, with opening doors, boot and bonnet - complete with "shaker" air intake.

Available in Vermilion Fire and True Blue, the models feature front and rear spoilers and ride on chunky Globe-style alloy wheels shod with genuine rubber red line Aquajet pattern tyres.

The diecast chassis shows meticulous attention to detail and the engine is similarly well finished, with tiny spark plug leads and decals.

Inside, you will find the correctly patterned vinyl seats, a fully-detailed dash, fabric-lined roof and even interior light fittings.

Trax says the Phase III model will be produced in limited numbers - 5000 in each colour - to ensure its exclusivity.

The model manufacturer says around 7000 of the models have been pre-sold to existing collectors already, with remaining stocks selling fast.

Trax can be contacted on Freecall 1800 635 508.
