THE Futura's standard suspension system uses independent double wishbones at the front and a Watts Link live axle with coil springs at the rear. Changes were made to spring and shock absorber rates as well as the top suspension mount with the introduction of AUII in 2000. At the same time, Ford changed the shock absorber settings in the rear suspension to give a smoother ride. The front suspension also received new, reduced-friction ball joints. The double-wishbone, fully independent Ford rear suspension (pictured) is optional.
