FORD promotes the fact that its inline six-cylinder, overhead camshaft engine has more power and torque than its competitors. It produces 157kW at 4900rpm and 357Nm at 3000rpm, slightly ahead of the Commodore V6's 152kW and significantly more than its 305Nm of torque. The alloy-headed 12-valve, single overhead camshaft, six-cylinder engine uses sequential multi-point electronic fuel injection controlled by Ford's EEC-V engine management system. A fail-safe cooling system enables the Falcon to be driven home even after a loss of coolant. The Futura is available with dedicated LPG or dual-fuel versions of the engine.
