AT AU time, Ford reworked its power-assisted rack and pinion steering system to further improve turn-in quality. Changes included a new steering rack to give improved straight-ahead stability, and the use of different bushes in the new front suspension. An increased castor angle and a reduction in the positive scrub radius helped give a more responsive, yet stable feel to the system.
