THE ute shares its front suspension with the rest of the Falcon range - a double wishbone setup with a long arm spindle hub carrier, gas dampers and a rubber mounted anti-roll bar. The rear suspension in Falcon utes is shared with Falcon wagon models - it's a Hotchkiss system, named after the French car manufacturer generally credited with developing the conventional rear suspension system of live rear axle and semi-elliptic leaf springs. The dampers are mounted outboard of the springs and are angled at the top toward the front of the vehicle. The XR6's suspension is the sports setup and gives the vehicle a lower stance than the XL and XLS models.
