THE slightly larger, slightly heavier Explorer retains the familiar proportions but has a more substantial, slabby look with chunkier, less knife-edged wheel arch flares. Ford says the new front end with its jewelled headlights and egg-crate grille is more aerodynamic, while the rear fascia is more integrated into the bodywork. It is still recognisable as an Explorer but looks more contemporary with its cleaner panels and wider overall stance.
