First look: Fisker previews Tramonto

BY MARTON PETTENDY | 10th Aug 2005

THIS sleek two-seater convertible proves Henrik Fisker hasn’t been resting on his laurels since departing his post as chief Aston Martin designer.

Previewed last week ahead of its Frankfurt motor show debut next month, Fisker Coachbuild’s inaugural offering will be the Fisker Tramonto.

To be displayed at Frankfurt alongside another Fisker design, the Tramonto is claimed to deliver 610 horsepower (455kW) and 0-60mph (96.6km/h) acceleration in just 3.6 seconds.

According to a press release issued by Fisker Coachbuild – a partnership between Bernhard Koehler and Fisker, who designed Aston’s DB9 Volante and this year’s 911-rivalling V8 Vantage – Tramonto production will be limited to just 150 vehicles.

Like the other Fisker vehicle, which is slated for production in 2006, Tramonto will express "design excellence rooted in the true California spirit, as portrayed in the logo design with the sun setting over the ocean."
