Fiat driveaway deals

FIAT has further cut its pricing in Australia while at the same time adopting standard driveaway prices across the country to comply with the government’s new advertising requirements from May 24.

Included in the price cuts is $1000 off the previous driveaway price for a Punto 1.4 Dynamic (now $18,990) and a saving of $4000 as well as on-road costs for the Ritmo 1.9 JTD Dynamic (now $25,990 driveaway), while the popular Fiat 500 range still starts at $22,990 but now includes on-roads.

Fiat Australia general manager Andrei Zaitzev said the brand had chosen to adopt uniform all-inclusive prices rather than have different advertised prices in different states due to varying sales tax levels and delivery costs.

“There has been a lot of discussion about how these new (advertising) rules will be introduced and many of the suggestions would seem to make the finding the right price harder, not easier for car buyers,” said Mr Zaitzev.

“For some car-makers this could mean dozens of different prices for the same car, depending where you live in Australia, but we have taken the decision to follow the spirit of the new rules, not the letter of the law, and make our pricing as simple and as easy to follow as possible.”Fiat has also extended the driveaway deals it introduced on January 1 on its Scudo and Ducato commercial vehicles, with all-inclusive prices from $34,490 and $39,990 respectively.
